You never forget your first time.
For my husband and me, it was at Tower City in Cleveland — back in the old days when it was still a bustling mall with cool shops. And it was love at first sight and taste.
We had never seen an Auntie Anne’s pretzel store before and were intrigued enough to try it. Heaven!
We love both the original and garlic varieties and, if we are really feeling rich, we will spring for some cheese to dip it in.
On Saturday, the chain is offering free pretzels, original or cinnamon, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store at the Lodi Stations Outlet mall is extending its free pretzels until 4 p.m.
Sounds like a family outing is in order!
Lately my husband has been warming up Thomas’ mini Pretz-a-bagels for a nighttime snack. We have been picking them up cheap at the Entenmann’s Bakery Outlet in Strongsville on Pearl Road just off Interstate 71. We hit the outlet on the way back from our daughter’s monthly orthodontist appointments.
They are good, but they cannot measure up to Auntie Anne’s.
